Our History
Competent Solutions Ltd was founded in January 1999 in response to the poor quality of IT support being offered to small and medium sized businesses by computer shops. The complexity of what a small business wants to offer it's customers and the level of IT needed to achieve it in a highly competitive market is comparable to that of a large corporate in many respects.
Our Objective
Competent Solutions aims to apply big business IT innovation to fit a small business budget increasing operating efficiency and competitive advantage.
Over the years our customers have been some of the first to adopt cost saving technologies.
For example:
- Terminal services – a technology for remote workers to use all applications at high speed from outside the office
- Encryption – for email, notebook data and server data
- Push email - directed to mobile devices
- Encrypted Wireless - between buildings and for social areas (popular with accommodation providers)
- Webcam security
From very early on we fixed faults by accessing users' PCs from our lab. Now 86.2% of all faults are fixed remotely. We have been running 64bit operating systems for our engineers for nearly a year now. The new Windows Vista is running in our lab. So when you are ready we will be ready.
