interSeptor is a 10/100 Ethernet device that can be monitored via the network. High and low critical/warning thresholds may be set to ensure early notification of air conditioning failure and other potentially disastrous environmental problems. interSeptor is the key to providing early warning of potentially catastrophic conditions that may be developing in critical environments. Configuration can quickly be carried out via telnet, serial connection or browser interface, and monitoring handled via the browser or a network management system. Competent Solutions also provide a comprehensive installation service. |
|
Uniquely, interSeptor’s optional Go-Probe sensors can be attached to the remote temperature/ humidity sensor to minimise cabling runs and installation time.
Extra facilities such as SNMP, DHCP and daily status reporting, make the interSeptor just about the most complete remote environmental monitoring product of its kind worldwide.
Monitoring IT Environments - Quickly & Easily
|
It is a common misconception that integrating environmental monitoring solutions into IT rooms, racks and datacentres is a time-consuming and costly process. Comprehensive solutions can be implemented nowadays inexpensively and solutions can be developed and expanded to suit changing requirements. ‘Out-of-the-box’ monitoring solutions are becoming the norm rather than the exception. Devices can have the capacity for a variety of sensors to be added and these sensors can easily be installed by IT personnel without specialist sensor knowledge. |
|
Jacarta’s interSeptor is supplied with a temperature and humidity sensor and this can be located near to or away from the interSeptor itself. The sensor can be mounted using a screw that hooks into a rear slot on the sensor, or the supplied velcro pad can be used.

Once the IP address has been assigned to the interSeptor and the sensor located, monitoring via a web browser can begin. A second, optional temperature sensor can also be added to the interSeptor, and once again, the sensor can be located where required, up to 30m from the interSeptor itself. Sensors detecting water leaks, smoke, unauthorised access and power can be connected quickly and effectively. Monitoring devices employ different techniques for facilitating this. The interSeptor allows additional sensors to be connected to the temperature/humidity probe. This makes it straightforward to locate these sensors without the need to run cables right back to the monitoring device itself. When full to capacity, the interSeptor can be monitoring 2 x temperature/humidity sensors plus 4 x water, smoke, power, security sensors in any combination. All equipment can be installed simply without on-site engineering expertise, or by our our experts so that you can rapidly implement an excellent level of monitoring and truly protection for your IT equipment. |

Email Alerts interSeptor can be configured to email up to 4 recipients in the event of an alarm condition. It is possible to configure this facility so that different recipients receive different types of alarm messages if required (eg. Informational, warning, etc.). It is even possible to send interSeptor current status reports to email recipients on a daily basis. Java Viewer interSeptor’s Java viewer provides an effective visual monitor, accessible via the browser interface. Real-time information can be viewed in graph or meter format. Logging / Graphing The capacity to extensively log environmental information and events via interSeptor, ensures that ongoing problematic conditions can be analysed in detail and remedial action taken. This facility can even help to identify heating and cooling inefficiencies and reduce costs. All interSeptor log information can be imported into popular spreadsheet programs, such as Excel. Further information can be quickly viewed and analysed using interSeptor’s real time and historical graphing facilities. |
