Competent Solutions can provide a range of backup solutions.  We can monitor and maintain on premises backup to tape or disk.  We also offer a Cloud based backup or can monitor and maintian your exsiting Cloud based backups.

Server Backups

The main complaints regarding Cloud backup has been that it's slow to take the first copy because of the size and small bandwidth of most ADSL connections.  Also in a disaster the data must again be copied over a slow link.  We overcome this by providing a removable hard disk with three gigabits of space (called a 'seed' backup).  This allows the first backup to take place on site and is very fast.  The encrypted seed backup is then taken to our site and transferred to secure storage.  Future backups then just backup changes which are small and manageable.

In the event of your server being stolen or rendered beyond repair we return the updated seed backup to site for a fast restore.

We can protect Hosted Servers, Virtual Servers, Exchange Servers, Databases, Mail systems and open files to local storage or to the Cloud.  All with encrypted fast seed unit first backup and fast disaster recovery restore.  With Bare metal backup options for full server protection.  We also have solutions for making copies of Cloud based systems which some customers require.

PC / Laptop / Mac Backups

We can provide the same service for PCs and Laptops regardless of whether they are in the office or at remote locations.  Sales staff can plug their device into a hotel wireless network and ensure that a backup of that day's work is instantly updated, protecting it against loss or failure of their equipment.
